New name & new website - February 2026

The original name for the project, "Toothpick Miniatures" was confusing because these models are primarily made from cardboard. Since templates are the distinctive feature is that project, it has been renamed "Template Miniatures".

New URLs have been created ( http://www. template-miniatures.com and http://www.templateminiatures.com) but the "Toothpick Miniatures" URLs remain. The sites are identical because I copy-paste the same pages to all.

Booklet n°10 V1.0 - March the 27th 2026

This booklet was started in 2024 right after I finished the AMR 35. There were a number of issues I couldn't tackle until I developped the "box" construction method with booklet n°12. This method is simpler and more effective than the previous "symmetrical folding" method, even though there are more parts.

The ventilation grille was another feature that was in development for the same amount of time, I'm glad it has been made.

The model catalogue is meant to cover four theaters or eras:
- Interwar conflicts (Sino-Japanese wars, Spanish Civil War, Chaco War etc.),
- European theater 1939-1941,
- Soviet-German theater 1941-1942,
- North African theater until 1942 (including Abyssinia).

For three of these theaters the catalog should offer the Panzer III, but it would take over four months to develop it (spring 2027 would be the most optimistic release date), so other models will be offered instead.

Tying up loose ends - April 2026

The "Template Miniatures" name was somewhat generic and bland, I felt I would have to change it sooner or later. The new name for the project is Constellation Miniatures, it fits the dot patterns that we create when we use the templates.

It has its own dedicated website: http://www.constellation-miniatures.com. The URLs for Toothpick Miniatures & Template Miniatures will remain, the files are identical on all websites.

When a Booklet has been updated to the new name, it means that it conforms to a standard. Pending issues were fixed and the Booklet will not change anymore.

Updated: Booklets 02 (Gaz-64), 06 (Pak 36), 07 (Panzer II), 10 (Cruiser tank) and 11 (AHN_I) have been updated to the new name. I also remade Step M03 ("paper") on all of them. On n°10 incorrect dimensions of the "turret space armour" have been fixed but the image about it on the cover will remain the same.

Currently being updated: Booklets 12 (AHN_II), 05 (Terrain_I) and 01(Troopers) will be updated before or during this summer. For n°12 it will be about filling the spaces left blank, for n°05 the house part and some tree parts are going to be changed, it was long overdure. Booklet n°01 will be entirely remade.

Booklet n°08 (Marmon-Herrington MkII) is a work-in-progress, tied to the completion of Booklet n°09 (Breda 20/65). They will be renamed when they're finished.

Not scheduled for update: Booklets 03 (AMX 13 VTT) and 04 (AMR 35) will not be updated in the foreseeable future, n°03 is quite obsolete, it would require months to make a new version. Less work is required on n°04 but I need time to see how to improve the design.

Lesson learnt: from now on I will not release Booklets that are not finished.
